#### CALCULUS/A.P. CALCULUS

#### SUGGESTED AGE 16-18

### CALCULUS/A.P CALCULUS

### TOPICS WE WILL COVER:

PREREQUISITES: This course must be done after Pre-calculus

This college preparatory Calculus course covers most of the first two semesters of college-level calculus, using a college-level calculus book. This course introduces students to the four key calculus concepts (limits, continuity, derivatives, and integrals, word problems, and more). By establishing a solid foundation in calculus basics, this course is intended to prepare a student for college calculus and the STEM field and the things that build on it.

Challenge problems provide the opportunity for students to advanced their mathematical understanding.

### TOPICS WE WILL COVER:

This course is designed for middle school students who require basic skill development in preparation for Pre- Algebra. Students review foundational topics essential for successful pre-algebraic thinking. Topics include the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers, mixed numbers, improper fractions, fraction as a decimal, decimal as a fraction, sorting numbers from least to greatest/ greatest to least, shapes and angles, unit conversions, word problems.

### TOPICS WE WILL COVER:

This course is designed for middle school students who require skill development in preparation for Algebra I. Students review foundational topics essential for successful algebraic thinking. Topics include the Real Number System, simplifying and evaluating variable expressions, linear equations and inequalities in one variable, percent and proportional reasoning, the coordinate plane, and word problem solving, and much more.

### TOPICS WE WILL COVER:

PREREQUISITES: This course must be done after Pre-Algebra

This college preparatory course includes studying the language of algebra, solving linear equations and inequalities, systems of equations and inequalities, quadratic equations, fundamental operations with monomials, polynomials, and radicals, as well as factoring, graphing different types of functions, and practical word problems. The foundation for this study is the structure of the real number system.
